About Us
Our project is based in Cornwall near Perranporth, a picturesque town by the sea. However the roots of our project started on a narrowboat in Bath (near Bristol) just over 3 years ago. The vision has always been to have a collective of musicians that we meet on our travels to session for us when we perform live - and we have met some very inspiring characters with the talent to boot! The artists include Barnaby Ray, Fahan Hassan, Beth Hutchins, Will Garwood, Damiri Topham, Molly Weaver, Lukas Drinkwater and Harry Harding to name but a few.
With over 350 gigs under our belts the live project is going strong, but at the same time it has only just begun! Our ultimate goal is to produce a live sound with a mini-orchestra of Jazz/World/Classical/Street influencd musicians to play the 'Making Waves' album.
We are always on the hunt for exiting musicians to join the collective. The most recent of which is Beth Hutchins who not only sings but holds down some of our Cuban bass lines on the Bassoon!
The other aspect of our Peoples String project is the writing partenership. We write and record music for other artists, for film, dance companies and theatre projects - in fact we can turn our hands to just about anything! We are always interested in creative collaborations, and anyone with an idea and the heart to go with it will have our attention.
In 2010 we will be touring the U.K to promote the 'Making Waves' album - let the good times roll!!!!
